Candidates will independently apply analytical and process based modelling instruments and will thus be able to estimate model parameters from field experiments, balance the fluxes of water and sub- stances in the critical zone and perform risk as- sessments on the travel distances of contaminants. In addition, candidates will be capable of assessing the limits of applicability of the models in naturally structured soils.
