The first 3 days will be an introduction to Python and what one can do with it (he explicitly proposed to not limit the intro to science related programming, so that we can grasp the full power of Python) plus NumPy. The last two days will introduce SciPy and NumPy in more detail and will look at different data formats (HDF, XML, NetCDF...), plots and any tasks we will come up with. We will take time to look at your specific tasks and qustions as well.
